Origin

This joke started with a conversation on the walk to our car after a date.  

We were walking on sidewalks that sparkle.  In my awkward randomness I piped up that as a child I was always fascinated by sparkling sidewalks.  

My husband, in his typical humor replied, "Congrats.  You are fascinated by quartz deposits."  

Typically, I don't have witty replies to his humor, but today I did.  

My response: "Many vampires died to bring you this sidewalk."  

This had us laughing the rest of the way to our car and on the way home - the idea for this blog was hatched.
